Senior Academy

Summer has been fabulous now that the sun has started to shine. I've been working with a stellar group of students for the HCOP Summer Academy, helping the recently graduated high school students prepare for college courses and dorm life. Many of these students have faced and overcame incredible obstacles, and they really make me appreciate my life and look at the privilege I've had with a new perspective. Something I've learned is to not let yourself become a victim. If you don't like the way your life is going, then utilize whatever means you have to change things.

I absolutely love my coworkers! We've been having a ball getting to know one another and trouble-shooting through scheduling issues, injuries, and stress. Every week, we take the students to the Forest Grove Farmer's Market where we partake in eating delicious street tacos, sampling homemade beef jerky, listening to live music, and getting henna tattoos (the new fad I've started, haha.)

Grandma and Grandpa also had an amazing graduation party for me, since I was unable to attend graduation due to my job. The whole family came to support me and I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life. Thank you for all your continued support over the last 22 years!
